This 1950 Ford F-1 custom pickup was a long-term build done by the well-known Austin Speed Shop, Jon Kaase Engines, Ace Fabrication and Redline Finishes, with advice from Charlie Hutton and PPG. It is powered by a professionally built 547/878hp engine with a FAST fuel-injection system and a TCI-built C6 automatic transmission. This build was debuted at the 2014 SEMA Show for the PPG paint booth. The exterior paint is a custom mix with the main body finished in a flat red and a high-gloss red on the running boards, visor and Wheelsmith wheels. It’s equipped with a stock F-1 chassis that is boxed in the front and rear, RideTech suspension with Shockwave bags on all four corners, Ford 9" rear end with 3.00 posi-traction, custom-built 3" exhaust system, 4-wheel disc brakes and custom-made Wheelsmith Artillery wheels. The interior features a custom-made TMI bench seat and black carpet with Dynamatted matching interior door panels and headliner, matching Banjo Grant steering wheel, interior door handles and window crank with bear-claw door latches, full vintage heating and cooling system and period-correct gauges and tachometer by AutoMeter. The truck also features twin Optima red top batteries in the rear for weight distribution, a custom bed with stainless strips, recessed Lokar taillights, and rack & pinion front end set up with power steering.
