This 1956 Ford F100 has been through a full ground up, nut and bolt professional build into the incredible truck you see here today. Starting with the chassis, the rails have been boxed for extra strength along with a custom tubular brace through the centre section. The front end is now a Mustang II style independent front with rack and pinion power steering. The rear end is a parallel four link setup with watts link to locate the diff.
Powering the beast is a 600ci, 800hp, Big Block Ford V8 built by Steve Schmidt Competition Engines out of Indianapolis in the USA. The engine is paired to a built turbo 400 automatic transmission with 3500 stall converter. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a custom drive shaft and into a 9” race products differential. The exhaust is taken care of with a full 3.5” stainless steel system that exits at a custom centre tip through the rear roll pan. Pulling everything up is Wilwood disc brakes front and rear. The chassis sits on full airbag suspension which comprises of Shockwave air bag struts front and rear, compressor and tank mounted under the cab floor and Accuair elevel air management with self-levelling and preset ride heights. Underneath the truck is nicely detailed with everything polished or neatly painted a bold red colour to match the interior.
The all steel body on this truck has been through extensive custom fabrication and is an absolute work of art. There are simply too many subtle modifications to go through in detail but the most obvious would be the roof chop. The all steel guards have been widened, the door corners radius’d, bumpers deleted, door handles shaved, original fuel filler shaved. The tub is a completely custom item with fabricated bed floor and tubs, smoothed bed sides, custom bed rails, shaved tail gate with custom embossed logo, roll pan, custom tail lights and centre exit exhaust. There is also Lincoln style push button door handles, flush mount fuel filler and all new custom glass. The whole body has been painted in metallic silver by Kings Customs. The custom work on the body and chassis was completed by BMV Engineering on the Sunshine Coast who are known for building high quality custom cars. The truck sits slammed over a set of massive billet wheels measuring 22×10 in the front and 24×12 in the rear.
Inside the truck is an understated but completely custom interior. Everything inside is either trimmed or painted in a bold red colour to contrast against the silver exterior. Red leather has been applied to the factory style bench seat along with some understated custom door trim. The dash itself has been shaved smooth with everything hidden for a seamless look. There is a chrome tilt column and 40 Ford reproduction steering wheel. The gauges are Dakota digital items and there is a row of billet style buttons. To keep it comfortable there is air conditioning with vents neatly mounted in a panel under the dash.
This would have to be one of the wildest and highest spec classic F100’s built in Australia. The amount of hours and dollars that went into building this one off custom is too great to count. Best of all, the truck has been completely engineered and mod plated for full QLD registration. This is a rare opportunity to own one of Australia’s coolest F trucks.
