A major USDA recall involving approximately 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products has been announced, with the affected meat distributed through retail and restaurant channels across the United States.

Consumers, retailers and restaurants are being urged to check their refrigerators, freezers and inventories for the recalled products.

But this recall is raising particular concern because of what federal inspectors discovered.

On September 22, 2026, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall involving raw pork, beef and goat products produced on various dates before September 22.

The products were shipped to a distributor in Georgia for further distribution to retail locations and restaurants nationwide.

The meat was distributed in bulk under the A&D Foods label and was individually vacuum-sealed before being placed into cardboard boxes of various weights. The recalled products include a long list of raw meat items, ranging from goat cuts and beef oxtail to beef ribs, beef feet, pork chops, ground pork, pork chorizo and several different pork Boston cuts.

According to FSIS, the products were discovered during the agency’s surveillance activities.

At the time the recall was announced, there were no confirmed reports of illness or injury associated with consumption of the recalled products.

However, the reason the products were recalled goes beyond an ordinary labeling mistake.

The Label Carried a Mark That Should Not Have Been There

According to FSIS, the affected products bear what the agency describes as a “false USDA mark of inspection.”

The mark carries the establishment number “EST. 1363.”

The problem is that, according to FSIS, that establishment number does not have a federal grant of inspection.

The agency specifically warned consumers about products carrying that number.

“Any product bearing the false establishment number ‘EST. 1363’ should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat,” FSIS said.

That makes the issue significantly different from a simple printing error or an incorrect description on a package.

The concern is that the products were presented as carrying a federal inspection identification even though FSIS says the establishment associated with that number did not have the required federal grant of inspection.

For consumers, that means the affected meat should not be treated as safe simply because it looks normal or because it was purchased from a familiar retailer.

The Company Behind the Recall

The company identified in the federal recall is Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in Lucama, North Carolina.

Star Meat Delivery is recalling approximately 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products after FSIS identified the inspection-mark issue during its surveillance activities.

The recalled meat was shipped to A&D Foods, a distributor located in Georgia, for further distribution to retailers and restaurants across the country.

That distribution chain is important because the products were not limited to one store, one city or one type of business.

Instead, the meat entered a broader distribution network that could have moved products through retail counters, restaurants and other food-service operations in different parts of the United States.

The recall was issued after FSIS determined that the affected products had been produced without federal inspection.
