Only a few months before her Milan appearance, Lopez offered a very J.Lo-style response when she was asked about the experience of dressing up.“I feel like a bombshell, like a queen, like the sexiest woman in the world,” she said.
The same conversation produced another explanation for why fashion has always played such an important role in her life.
“I think I love clothes because I love being an actress: it’s stepping into a character,” Lopez explained.
That philosophy was on display in Milan.
Lopez arrived wearing black Dolce & Gabbana, looking every bit like the global fashion figure she has become over the course of her career. But she did not begin the evening as one of the people walking the runway. The account of her September 22 appearance described her spending the earlier part of the event as a spectator.
Then everything changed.
