Perhaps no other early 4WD has captured the American Spirit as the Ford Bronco. The Ford Bronco was an instant hit when it was introduced as a rugged, simple and economical compact SUV. The Bronco soon had a reputation for having many utility type uses as well as superior off road capability. The 1979 Bronco here is truly something special. Along with the purchase of this Bronco comes the Marti Report which breaks down every option and date pertinent to this truck. It was sold brand new at the Johnson-Cook Ford INC dealer in Boone NC on August 29 1979. It is 1 of only 197 in this color and trim package for 1979. The truck was brought to us from Florida where it resided for the last few years where it received a restoration.
The powerhouse for this truck is a mechanically sound 460 v8 with a C6 automatic column shift transmission and NP205 transfer case. The truck runs and shifts as it should. This bronco sounds great as it recently had a new dual exhaust system installed. It has 4.10 gears in the front with a Dana 44 and 4.10 gears in the rear with a Ford 9” rear end. According to the previous owner, there was over $3,000 spent on MSD Atomic Fuel Injection and MSD Streetfire Ignition. The stock intake was replaced and upgraded to a Edelbrock Performer. There was a brand new aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan installed along with a new grill surround shroud. Over $2,000 was just recently spent on Nostalgic heat and air conditioning and blows ice cold. Inside the truck there is a new Retro Audio 2 post radio installed with a hidden auxiliary port along with new speakers. The interior is new and shows well, included new head liner, dash pad, front and rear seats, side panels and door panels. Brand new ProComp wheels were purchased with gorilla lugs. The tires are in great shape as well. There is a 4 inch lift from Rough Country with blocks in the rear and coils in the front with shocks and matching steering stabilizer. The body is finished in Deluxe TuTone light medium blue paint. The paint shows well and the body is nice and straight. All the lights and gauges work along with the rear power window.
