Another great western Ford 4X4 just in. This 1978 Ford F250 Ranger Lariat Camper Special 4x4. The truck was built in San Hose California and went to Idaho where it was sold new. The original owners sold the truck to the second owner in 2010. The truck was still had its original paint and the mileage was in the high 50's. The second owner was a California resident and brought the truck home to restore it. The paint was just thin but the body was completely rust free. The trucks body was disassembled including bed, doors, fenders and glass. It was stripped and painted back to its original colors of cream and dark brown. The body is super straight with a very nice finish. The chrome and britework was all restored or replaced with NOS parts. All of the weatherstriping was replaced and a new windshield was installed. The interior was completely original when purchased, PHOTO BY tnrods.com

a new carpet set was installed and the original seat cover was removed and the seat foam was replaced and the original cover reinstalled to make the truck as comfortable as new. The headliner, dash pad and door panels are also original and are in superb condition. The powerplant is a 400M backed by an automatic transmission the truck runs and shifts as it should and is not leaking fluids in excess anywhere. The truck was optioned with Dana 60 axles front and rear which is a very desireable combination. The F250 has 4:10 gearing but with the addition of the new 35 inch rubber mounted on 20x12 custom wheels the truck travels at highway speeds with no issues

The suspension was freshened with a Rancho 3" lift to get the truck sitting tall like it did when it was sold new. This Lariat is optioned as follows... Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, A/C, Tilt Column, Dual Fuel Tanks, AM/FM Stereo and the Lariat Trim Package. Included in the sale are the original owners manual, warranty card and the truck consumer information sheet. I also have the original leather key chain and keys from the original selling dealer, Dan Weibold Ford in Nampa Idaho. The truck is a fine example of 70's Ford 4x4The suspension was freshened with a Rancho 3" lift to get the truck sitting tall like it did when it was sold new. This Lariat is optioned as follows... Gorgeous truck...but I just can't get past the wheels. The stance is great, just something about those wheels that throws me off. Just my opinion, but these older rigs look much better with something a little more "period correct" or "less flashy". Otherwise, this is an amazing looking truck.
