Bought it from my father in law about 7 years ago, and it was orginally a maroon color. Him and I started off with 3.5 " skyjacker lift kit. Pulled motor took it to Dnk engine for the rebuild. The motor is .40 over 351M balanced 4 barrel holley off road carburetor 4 speed manual transmission. Running 33x12.50s on ULTRA wheels. Paint done by Klines Kustoms Kolors to match a 68 Camaro I restored 15 years ago. All interior and hardware replaced. And MOVE bumpers...we love it! It's another child for us!

How cool. Had the idea in my mind forever and finally just dove in with both feet.

Thought about it. 33's were more practical it is to use not to show. Didn't want the power loss and mileage.
You can run 33x12.50 on those trucks without a lift. Why did you lift it if you didn't want to run a bigger tire?

Personal preference. Guess I should have consulted in you before I built it.

i have a 1979 4x4 with stock 15x7 rims and wrangler tires and looking to go with a 3 inch suspension lift and put 33x12.5 BFG mud tires on are you suggesting i do not have to lift the original set up to accomplish this? also if you have advice on a lift kit besides rough country let me know.

Truck looks and sits great. I like the tire to fender gap that the small lift gives the 33’s.
